Nice pots but loose shafts feels cheap.
I figured that these pots were the best available judging by the price. I was disappointed for the following reason. The shaft is very loose, it wobbles and turns easily but not smoothly. It sounds hollow when turning it. The result is that it feels like a really cheap pot. The measured resistance was 510k Ohms which is good compared to most pots. The taper was relatively smooth. I read that these are the model 82 Vintage reissue pots and are supposed to have a plastic element with very low noise. Requires a 3/8'' dia mounting hole. The shaft is 6mm (.236'') diameter. I suspect that the body was designed for a 1/4'' shaft and Bourns used a 6 mm shaft for Allparts. Everywhere else I see these pots sold they list the shaft as 1/4''. This may explain the looseness.
