Grounding plate for Telecaster® bridge pickup. 6-32
The holes in the base plate were NOT threaded. I had to drill the holes bigger and then tap them. Traditionally Telecaster bridge pickup base plates are copper plated steel. This plate is not a copper color. That's not really a big concern of mine because ultimately when the pickup is installed in the guitar the base plate is not visible. However it would have been nice if the plates were copper in color to give the pickup a traditional appearance. Come Allparts, I expect better from you!Reviewed by: (Verified Buyer) Nick Cardillo from Twinsburg, Ohio. on 8/7/2015
Forget the other guy's review. He's missed some points. The holes CAN'T be factory threaded, because different guitars use different mounting screws with different threading. Not everything is 6-32 thread. Also, not all original Telecaster elevator plates were copper wash plated. Some were zinc plated in the early 50's. The zinc oxidizes easily so nickel makes a nice alternative with a similar look that will last longer. Besides, AllParts DOES offer a copper plated version. Is this the most authentic version to original Tele elevator plates out there? No. Definitely not. It's arguably better, however, as the originals had problems.Reviewed by: James Finnerty from Colorado Springs. on 12/6/2017
