Gotoh Tuning Keys, Vintage Style, 6-in-line, Gold, Keystone Buttons, 15:1
Vintage Style Keys
Back in 1976 I purchased the very first Reissue of the 1958 Gibson Explorer that was exactly like the ''58 xcept the body was Mahogany(not a problem)and the tuning keys were not like the original.(Problem) They were little gold buttons on a ''slab''. Had some minor tuning problems with them but nothing terrible. I knew the ''58s had the old kluson tulip/keystone tuners that are so much cooler looking then the aformentioned and also work much better. Went on a tangent trying to track down a set of these and finally ended up @ Allparts who had these Gotohs that were basically to spec. They are in my Explorer and I haven''t looked back since. Much sturdier and solid tuner then what was in previously . They hold pitch MUCH better and they''re sexier too. Also they have a split shaft not a hole and that translates into a super grip on the strings. I couldn''t be happier! Thanks Gotoh and All parts!Reviewed by: J.F.A. from Allentown, Pa. on 5/18/2012 1:26:00 PM
