Model Overview

The Allparts Select Replacement Jazz Bass® Conversion Neck is “officially licensed by Fender®” and made to exacting quality standards in Japan.  An idea introduced to the Allparts team by Brad Lowe of Lowe Custom Guitars, the conversion bass neck concept provides a medium scale (32") option that retrofits directly onto most Fender® Jazz Bass® bodies originally designed for a 34" scale—with no bridge relocation required! Just swap out the neck, and you're ready to play! By converting a bass from its original 34" scale length to a 32" scale, the distance between each fret is pushed closer together, making the instrument easier to play for students and guitarist looking to explore the bass.  In collaboration with Lowe Custom, we’re proud to offer a Jazz Bass version of Lowe’s conversion neck utilizing the Licensed Fender headstock shape.  Best of all – the conversion is 100% reversible if you choose to go back to your original 34” scale neck.  Additionally, this neck features a 7.25”-10” compound fretboard radius with 20 jumbo frets for a comfortable feel and is finished in satin polyurethane for hours of smooth, frictionless playing!

Why Roasted?

Roasting the wood blanks prior to production enhances stability by reducing the moisture content down to around 7%.  The result is a more-resonant neck that’s stronger and less susceptible to changing weather conditions.  Roasting (or cooking) flamed maple also enhances the visual depth of the flame, accentuating the uniqueness of each neck.

Important Notes

  • Wood grain varies from neck to neck.  Your neck may differ slightly from what is pictured.
  • All necks have a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
  • All necks may require fret leveling and polish.  This is normal and not a defect.
  • To protect against the effects of moisture, we recommend sealing unfinished necks prior to installation.
  • Due do the lack of moisture in roasted maple, the risk for cracking is more apparent.  When drilling holes for screws, we recommend measuring inside and outside of the threads first to determine the screw's shank and the correct drill bit to use.  Do not force screws into holes drilled with smaller drill bits.
