You can alter the way the instructions say to install these and obtain results that I can't really say are much different that how the Gibson engraved long trem functions. Since I started buying Japanese copies to replace my vintage instruments the Allparts store has become a got to for making then like my older guitars that should stay home and safe, if not in a safe. I am not sure if the word is swivel, pivot or what, but with a little thought these go on an SG with little fuss. How Gibson could allow dress rights and go against patent is not even legal, so if they had any say it would be over dress rights. Patents from that era were only good for 25 years. Now it is 17 and you have to renew every few years.

SG installation |

The previous reviewer states that the tailpiece is installed with the strap against the top and not the side. I think that is how they are supposed to be installed, the way that G*bs*n designed the original tailpieces to be installed. I don't understand why Allparts says it won't fit an SG, unless G*bs*n forced them to do it.

I know this states it will not fit an Sg , But it will, You have to swivel the mounting flange so it is flat against the top of the guitar not along the back edge Works fine I have one on my SG , and if you look at ppicks you can see its used on many others
