This classic brownish finish has been a staple in Gibson’s color palette from the early days to the present, featured on various models of SG and Les Paul guitars. It has coexisted alongside the iconic Cherry finish and remains a favorite among vintage and modern players alike. Notably used on the back and neck of Gibson guitars, this color complements mahogany wood beautifully, enhancing its natural grain while adding depth and warmth.
Important: As this is a translucent finish, achieving the same tone as shown in the reference photo requires applying it over mahogany or similarly dark-toned wood. The underlying wood plays a crucial role in the final appearance.
